The Book

Bluefire

Dr. John Cameron’s journey through Medical School finds perhaps more questions than truths revealed.  War deepens these paradoxes. Cameron then journeys adrift, without harbor. Until he meets Christine, over a song in a Greek taverna in Athens.  Without a word he takes her hand, and her hand folds into his.  But suddenly Chris leaves. Cameron journeys to find her–from Corfu, to Venice, to Istanbul, finally to a desert destination.  In the desert he encounters a blue fire spirit of legends.  The blue fire spirit reveals the secret that Chris has been trying to show him all along.

Reviews

Clarion Review: “In the book’s frenzied emergency room and bedside scenes, he feels the weight of his own work”…”BLUE FIRE is a wild, searching historical novel in which a yearning Doctor traverses landscapes to find his true self.”

Blue Ink Review: “The insider’s knowledge is the novel’s biggest strength; for those of strong stomach, the hospital scenes are gripping and efffective”…”The prose otherwise has remarkable range, at times playfully descriptive, at times spare and haunting.”
